Coring your lawn, also known as aerating, involves removing small plugs (up to 70mm) of soil and thatch from the ground. Here are some benefits:

  1. Improved Airflow: It allows air to reach the roots, promoting healthier growth.
  2. Enhanced Nutrient Absorption: Aerating helps the roots absorb essential nutrients more efficiently.
  3. Better Water Penetration: Perth sandy soils are prone to becoming water repellent. Water can reach deeper into the soil, reducing runoff and promoting a stronger root system. We also recommend and can provide a treatment of wetting agent at the same time.
  4. Reduced Soil Compaction: It alleviates compaction, which can hinder root growth and nutrient absorption.
  5. Thatch Management: Aerating helps break down thatch, a layer of dead grass and roots that can suffocate your lawn. For heavily thatched lawns “Verti mowing” may be required.

We always run your retic first to mark out the pop-ups to avoid damage.

We also run a mower over the removed “plugs” once completed to clean-up 90% of the coring residue.
